JOHN SEIDLER
President, Spectrum Energy, Inc.
Mr. Seidler has more than twenty-five years of experience in the utility power and energy industry. Mr. Seidler co-founded Spectrum Energy, Inc., in 1998, to provide comprehensive development, engineering, construction and project management services for power generation projects. He is an expert in the development, design and construction of state-of-the art combustion turbine-based combined and simple cycle power projects for utility and industrial applications.
Mr. Seidler has served as Project Manager on projects for repeat customers Duke Power, Constellation Power, Jonesboro City Water and Light, and others including Kinder Morgan, Alabama Municipal Electric Authority, and Public Service Company of New Mexico. These projects include 735 MW comprised of single and multi-unit LM6000’s and 7EA’s in simple cycle plants, 110 MW in a 2xLM6000 combined cycle plant, and 300 MW 6xFT8 TwinPac power plant. The most recent project Mr. Seidler served as Project Manager was an 85 MW 7EA plant just outside of Grande Prairie, Alberta.
Previously, Mr. Seidler founded a successful consulting business that provided development, engineering, and project management services to clients in the power industry for thirteen years. Projects included the Fort Lupton Cogeneration Project, a 272 MW gas-fired cogeneration plant that began commercial operation in 1994 and has been operating successfully since; the Monfort Cogeneration Project, a 35 MW gas-fired cogeneration plant that began commercial operation in 1996 and has been operating successfully since; the Puente Hills Energy Recovery from Gas Project (PERG), a 50 MW landfill gas-fired power plant that has been successfully operating since November 1986. PERG was the first, and it remains the largest landfill gas-fired power plant in the world. Prior to starting the consulting business, Mr. Seidler was employed by Ultrasystems Engineering & Constructors where he worked on a number of biomass-fired power and cogeneration projects.
Mr. Seidler received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Santa Clara University, Master of Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University, and Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School (California State Bar #177283).
